Sunday Services are our main week event starting at 10:30am A usual Sunday service begins with a time of singing and celebration in which we join together to enjoy praising and worshipping our God. This worship time usually runs in to sharing communion together. We then have a children's praise time during the service followed by a prayer time. Our children then attend Allstars (the Sunday School) in the minor hall and are taught lessons geared to their level of understanding. We normally advise that young people from the age of 11/12 years are able to understand the adult teaching and so Allstars is geared only for ages up to 11/12 years. The adult teaching is continued in the main hall. For our babies and toddlers we provide a crèche facility, in which the babies and toddlers must be supervised by the parent or guardian. There is an audio relay from the main hall for the parents to enjoy the adult teaching whilst the toddlers play. We record all our services digitally and they are available for purchase either on CD or as a digital file. They are also available by logging in to our web site and creating a membership account. We suggest that this option is generally kept for the convenience of our church members only.
On the first Sunday of each month the morning meeting becomes a Family Service. Family services have a more relaxed feel to them and usually involve one of our member families presenting a message in a fun and friendly format. People are encouraged to arrive earlier for a family service, allowing us time to have tea, coffee and refreshments in the Harvester before the meeting starts.
Sunday Evening Occasions Occasionally we hold an evening service and these are variable in many ways as the Lord leads. Any number of things could happen and our aim is to keep these services flexible. Sometimes we may have a shorter sermon, inspiring us to learn and be encouraged in our individual relationship with God. It may be that a church member is sharing a specific testimony or a word of encouragement. It could be extended worship, a gospel message, a DVD or Bible history, maybe a visiting speaker or missionary... evenings are occasional and different! Please check the website for details of any upcoming evening events.
As it is God's church He calls the shots and we show Him we love Him by simply being obedient to Him - John 14v15 - Jesus said 'If you love Me, obey My commands'. God is a God of diversity in every way and we want to be open to Him whatever the direction! |
